We had a great time last night at The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. It was the Tampa Bay Chapter’s 18th Big Game Banquet. Through all of the dedicated members, RMEF is able to achieve it’s mission of ensuring the future of elk, along with other wildlife and their habitats for our generation and generations to follow.
The Tampa Chapter, one of 550 chapters across North America, is made up of a great group of volunteers within our community, that work continuously to help improve The RMEF’s conservation efforts. I commend everyone who was responsible including Dave Schwichtenberg, Committee Chairman, and Jim Rice, Committee Co-Chairman, for putting the banquet together to ensure that we all had a great time amongst the camaraderie of outdoors men and women, and more importantly to raise funds for the future of hunting and preservation of wild life. Thank you to all the sponsors and donors : Arrowhead Archery, Shoot Straight, Texas Cattle Company, Deer Creek Sporting Clays, Head Hunters Trophy Wear, just to name a few. It’s organizations like this that make it possible for us to conserve and enjoy our rights as hunters, and to have the opportunity to introduce this awesome sport to others.

It’s all about giving back! I had the opportunity of co-donating a Trophy Hog Hunt. The pictures above are of me being introduced by Dave, the Committee Chairman, and of me explaining what the trophy hog hunt will entail. I can’t wait to experience this successful hunt with the individual who won. Through this donated hunt, $450 was raised to help the RMEF to continue it’s efforts. This was just one of many donated hunts, fishing charters, guns, products, and safaris auctioned off. For more information about The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation or to become a member, go to www.rmef.org ! Stay tuned as I document and post pictures of the Trophy Hog Hunt to come!
