This is an example of how I train while I am on my hunts. I started this work out with weight resistant exercises and followed that by a two mile run. I like to train in the same conditions I will be hunting in so that my body can adhere to the conditions the wilderness provides. It’s nice to mix up the work outs to keep it interesting and fun.

Running through the rugged terrain helps you to realize how different and tough it can be when compared to running on a treadmill or asphalt. Every step is uneven, so you have to adapt and pay attention to how the earth is laid out before you. On one step you may be in soft sand while the other is pushing off a tree limb. You also utilize different muscle groups such as your hip flexors than you would if you were running on a flat surface in one direction. The cuts and bruises that I experience along the way just make me a tougher person and a better hunter. Hunting is unexpected, you are going to get cut, experience a bruise here and there, but you still have to focus on getting the job done. After all, hunting is not just a hobby, its a lifestyle. Hunt Strong, Train To Hunt!
