Did you know that more people commit suicide per year with a fork than they do with a gun? It is pretty apparent the United States of America is in a healthcare pandemic.  We, as a country, are growing sicker and sicker with problems ranging from obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. It’s so sad to witness the hold Satan has on the food and health industries. He is killing God’s people at a younger age, or crippling them from fulfilling the calling on their lives by giving them health ailments.

God revealed the Genesis of this issue to me during one of my morning quiet times with Him.  Here is where He led me…to the fall of man….let me explain. Through which physical act did the fall of man occur? It was through the act of eating a forbidden fruit. Enter Satan. He hasn’t stepped aside from his plan of distraction within this area of our lives. Now, more than ever, he has more power in the industry. What’s his motive? To kill, steal and destroy. How does he do this? One way he does it is through the distraction of food. He gets people hooked on sugar.

Sugar is a drug, a legal drug. Research shows it is actually more addictive than cocaine, and it is found, along with preservatives, in almost all foods produced inside an American food factory. People don’t even realize they have an addiction. That yes, there is such a thing as food addiction. We have been kept in the dark away from the truth. Instead, we blindly put our trust in governmental bodies to monitor our health and well-being. A lesson to be learned–nothing is monitored justly when there is a profit to be gained.

I am deeply passionate about this national issue because I see how members of my family, my friends, and my local church body are suffering. I see how their legacies for Christ are being stifled and cut short. I see the pain on their loved one’s faces as they watch them spiral down in depression and health. This is not the abundant life Christ calls us to. There is so much more for us as His children. I know the truth, I see the truth, and I want to share it.

Christ has led me to a form a ministry in which I speak this message to His church; which is sick and hurting. Hunt Strong is a message about choosing a lifestyle; one that is self-sustaining, focusing on longevity and quality of life. I pray that through my sharing of the truth; of how to surrender and seek Him, how to properly eat and exercise, that His church will strengthen and will go out to be the hands and feet of Christ, as we have been called to do.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”
