As a young boy, I was taught it is always better to give than receive and that philosophy stands true today. In today’s society, people get all caught up in the “What’s in it for Me?” attitude. Instead, it should be “What can I do for you” or “How can I Help”? I believe we were all put on earth to “make a difference”; help one another, love thy neighbor, and to be thankful for what we have. This is exactly how I will live my life and how Hunt Strong, Train To Hunt as a business will be represented.
Just recently, The Southern Trophy Hunters (Jay Everett and crew), Water’s Cattle (Ned Waters and Family), The Backwoods Life (Michael Lee, Kevin Knighton, Trey Wetherington, Steve Nichols), Huntin’ is Good (Sam Klement), The Archery Shop, Higginbotham Ranch, and Hunt Strong (myself) raised funds for The Wounded Warrior’s Sportsman Fund. The fund supports our warriors who were injured in battle to give them a chance to continue their experiences of hunting or fishing and for some , gives them the first opportunity to get out in the woods and enjoy God’s country. These individuals put their lives on the line, away from their families, to fight for our freedom. They fight for our freedom to do what we enjoy and for most of us outdoors-men and women, the freedom to Hunt and Fish. These veterans have had life changing experiences such as losing limbs, tragic memories, or even staring at death in the face. My heart goes out to these individuals, so in my eyes, taking time out of my schedule to support them is the least I can do.
Ned Waters with Water’s Cattle supplied steak dinners with all the fixngs for those who attended the banquet, and Jay Everett with Southern Trophy Hunters promoted the event weeks prior to the Big Buck Expo for twenty dollars a ticket. The Backwoods Life and I (Hunt Strong) coordinated a one-arm row challenge where individuals could buy time slots for five dollars a slot to conjure a guess at how long Michael Lee, Kevin Knighton, Trey Wetherington, Steve Nichols, Sam Klement, and myself could hold up a 50 lb. dumbell in the bent over row position combined. The winning person who guessed the right time won products donated by sponsors and exhibitors who attended the show. For those who are curious, we held up the 50 lb. dumbell for a total of 18 minutes and 21 seconds. The Archery Shop auctioned off a gator hunt to also raise funds for the warriors.
There were more than $5,000 raised for The Wounded Warriors Sportsman Fund all together. I was glad and honored to be apart of such a great funraiser and can’t wait to do another one. Thanks to all who attended, Higginbotham Ranch for hosting the event, The Southern Trophy Hunters, Backwoods Life, Huntin’ is Good, Hunter Safety Systems, Water’s Cattle, Muzzy, The Archery Shop, and most of all “Our Warriors”. God Bless Our United States Military and Thank You from the bottom of my heart.
Hunt Strong’s appearance at the Southern Trophy Hunter’s Big Buck Expo in Lakeland was exciting. I was fortunate enough to be a feature at the show and had the opportunity to preach the Hunt Strong Gospel to all the hunters who attended. There were a lot of exhibitors, cool give aways, great sponsors like Ol’man Tree-stands, Hunter Safety System, Muzzy, and many more.
The Muzzy Hunting Camp included legendary outdoor hall-of-famer Roger Raglin; my good friends and Hunt Strong Clients Michael, Kevin, and Trey from the tv show ” Backwoods Life”, Sam Klement from “Country goes Huntin’ ” & “Huntin’ is Good”; and Kenneth Lancaster & Sugar Shane Smith from “Antler Insanity”. The Muzzy Hunting Camp is an open forum question and answer segment where fans ask any question they want the outdoor television celebrities to answer.
It’s always a blast when hunters get together to share their passion for the sport. Huntin’ is Good! I got the opportunity to meet and greet fans of Hunt Strong and introduce new fans to what Hunt Strong is all about. We featured our first ever Hunt Strong, Train To Hunt Recipe Guide, which was a top seller. We made 38 lbs. of “Crockett’s Chuncky Chilli”, one of the featured recipes, and passed out samples. We also sold Hunt Strong gear and apparel; posters, wristbands, hats, window decals, and shirts. All of these items will be available soon online here @www.IHuntStrong.com.
The Hunt Strong One-Arm Row Contest was definitely a challenge many could not pass up. The goal was to perform as many one-arm rows as you could without putting the weight down on the same arm while staying in the bent over row position. The men used a 70 lb. dumbell, women used a 30lb. dumbell, and kids used a 10 lb. dumbell. The overall winners for the men and women were a husband and wife team, EJ and Emily O’Neill, Hunt Strong clients from Brandon Florida. EJ tallied up an amazing 100 total reps and Emily performed an impressive 70 reps. WOW!! Tyler Nelson, from Alabama, performed 224 one-arm rows making him the overall kid’s Hunt Strong one-arm row contest winner! All contest winners will be getting a Hunt Strong t-shirt to show off their Hunt Strong guns. Great job guys and gals and thanks for participating.
We had an awesome time visiting with outdoors men and women and hearing how they were getting geared up for the upcoming hunting season. Thank you to all who came out and supported the number one sport on earth, Hunting. A huge thanks to Jay, Jill, Brian, and the rest of the crew at Southern Trophy Hunters who put on the entire expo and for allowing me to come and present The Hunt Strong Way of Life: Train, Hunt, Eat. Also, a huge thanks to my wife Robin, my mom and dad, sisters Elaine and Brittany, mom and dad Morgan, sister-in-law Shelby, Emily, EJ, Mark, JD, Backwoods Life, Colormac, and Dani who helped Hunt Strong make this event a success.
You can have all of the best equipment, but if your most important weapon, “your body” is not prepared for the hunt, you will struggle to be successful. I am committed to educate today’s outdoors-men and women with the ultimate formula for lifetime physique transformation, therefore, growing their success in the field as well as growing our kingdom of hunters, one hunter at a time. Commit to the preparation! The Hunt Starts Here. Hunt Strong, Train To Hunt.
