Proper Nutrition

If you committed to yourself to make one change in your life, which change would make you a healthier person: eating right or exercising?  Correct answer: EATING RIGHT!  Believe it or not, nutrition is the most important component of the Results Formula.  (Results Formula= eating right + weight-resistance training + cardiovascular training). It is what potentially separates you from holding the antlers or horns of your ultimate trophy! So now you’re thinking, “what does eating right mean?”  Let’s start with what it doesn’t mean…

Ever hear the words “conventional dieting” i.e. calorie counting? Let’s be honest, almost everyone has tried a conventional diet at some point in their life.  But what was the outcome?  I will take a guess, you either failed to lose fat or you regained it all plus some shortly after. Truth is conventional dieting programs are designed to make you fail. They are temporary solutions that make you become lifetime dependent upon them.  The founders of these programs aren’t stupid, they want your money, over and over again! You can’t turn on the television without some company advertising the magic pill or weight loss  program that will intend to give you the results you want.  Simply stated, conventional dieting is not a way to lose body fat or a way to get you within reach of harvesting your dream animal! You absolutely do not learn anything from following these types of diets; except for how far you can push your will power until you give in and bounce back like a rubber band.

Thanks to these programs, most individuals have a negative outlook on eating. So called experts, have trained our minds to think calories make people fat. So we all look at eating as being bad because eating is the process of ingesting calories. Typically, the first step in most conventional diets is to cut calories.   There are 4 grams per calorie in proteins and carbohydrates and 9 grams per calorie in fats. So, the first macro-nutrient to be eliminated from the diet is fat. Fat consumption has almost diminished from our diets, but yet the obesity rates have increased. I don’t ever recall seeing someone who is obese sitting down at the dinner table drinking a glass of extra virgin olive oil. Just the thought of drinking that much oil makes me have a gag reflex. It’s the consumption of preservatives and highly refined cheap carbohydrates mixed with low quality fats that make people fat.  Not all calories are created equal either. You can have six doughnuts a day or have six meals of lean wild game and broccoli throughout the course of the day. The total number of calories are the same. You tell me which is more nutritious.

The secret to my success was finding a perfect balance in my eating plan.  I don’t count calories or restrict myself from eating any of the major food groups.  The key is knowing when to eat them and how much.  I can guarantee you the same results.  Remember what we are trying to accomplish, that feeling of victory as we wrap our hands around the antlers or horns of a trophy animal. What you eat determines how well you will perform. You don’t want to come home empty handed all because you were not properly prepared. Your results should end up on your wall and in your freezer with a story to reminisce upon.

Stay tuned as I continue to reveal the secrets to my lifestyle… Hunt Strong, Train to Hunt!

Client Feedback

Davie knew of my love for the outdoors through both hunting and fishing and designed a program that was built for me. It is easy to focus on the minor benefits such as looking better; however the real upside is being able to enjoy your free time to the fullest. Whether I am Dall Sheep hunting in Canada or stalking Stags in Argentina, I know that I am going to be able to enjoy every moment of that experience because my body is ready to handle it!!!  Thanks for helping me achieve my goals.
I started training with Davie because I wanted to look better and feel better. It was my goal to get into the best shape of my life!  Davie’s program did exactly that. I learned what I was missing and what was necessary not only to drop my body fat percentage but to keep that percentage there. It was intense and rewarding at the same time. I felt really good about the progress I made and continue to do so! Thank you Davie!
Thank you to my husband for introducing me to the sport of hunting, for inspiring me each and every day to live life passionately. I train for you, for our daughter Emma, for my own health, and I Train to Hunt! I am Hunt Strong!!
Davie showed me how to change my life.  After being put on a couple of medications at the age of 31, I had to change my way of life.  Fifty plus pounds off later and eating clean, I am no longer on any medication.  Thank you brother for showing me the right way!
